AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) in SMT is a technology used to check the surface assembly quality of PCB (Printed Circuit Board). It uses high-resolution camera systems and image processing software to detect defects and errors in the surface assembly process.
How many types of SMT AOI are there?
SMT AOI equipment is mainly divided into two types: online and offline.
Online AOI equipment can be placed on the assembly line and used simultaneously with other SMT equipment to achieve 100% full inspection, with a high degree of automation and suitable for large-scale production. Offline AOI equipment is usually placed in other locations to inspect PCB boards on the SMT assembly line. The inspection method is random inspection or batch inspection.
